Found a screw in the passenger side front tyre yesterday while we were in beautiful downtown Wyndham. When we got back to camp I removed it and happily no air could be heard escaping. We drove out to have a look at Lake Argyle and it's associated dam, and all still looked good on return, so fingers crossed, as it will be a week or more before we hit anything like the civilization level of Kununurra if we need to repair it.
The lake is massive - 740 sq km, and is the biggest man made lake in Oz. On the way into the lake we stopped off at the relocated Argyle Homestead Museum. This was the original homestead of the enormous cattle property set up by the Durack family of 'Kings in Grass Castles' fame, and was moved from it's original location before the lake filled once the dam wall was complete. The whole thing was pulled down, every stone numbered and stored in 44 gallon drums, then moved to it's new location and reassembled. A fantastic piece of pioneering history and well worth the stop.
Off to the Bungle Bungles tomorrow - the fun has just begun!
